This Molyorbital™ shapes of molecules electron repulsion theory kit contains sufficient parts to make 8 easy to self-assemble molecular orbital models demonstrating electron pair repulsion. It is a useful tool to help understanding of VSEPR (valence shell electron pair repulsion).
This set contains sufficient parts to make the eight models shown. The different shapes demonstrate the orientations of the bonding pairs and lone pairs and cover coordination numbers one to six. Lone pairs are represented by brown spheres or brown pear shaped parts. Two extra pear shaped parts are included in the set to enable protonated models to be made (acid/base theory, the formation of H3O+)
