This pack contain 10 yellow balls representing oxygen atoms, for instance, and the diameter of each atom is 23 mm. Each atom has two holes arranged at 105° meaning two bonds may be represented. If you want to make a third bond (as in Me3S+ for instance) or show lone pairs we also supply yellow 3- and 4-hole atoms.
Why would you need these? Typically these two-hole sulfur atoms are used to represent sulfur (sulphur) in sulfides (sulphides), thiols, and thioethers.
This pack is for extending an existing set or for replacing lost parts.
The Molymod® system is the original, unique, dual-scale system of high quality low-cost molecular models. These enormously popular sets are ideal for students but are also used by scientists all over the world.
