The Molymod® sodium chloride kit can be used to assemble an elegant model of sodium chloride with 13 sodium atoms and 14 chlorine atoms arranged a cubic array. The chlorine atoms are 32 mm while the sodium atoms are 23 mm in diameter to reflect their relative ion sizes. The atom parts are made of attractive solid coloured plastic spheres.
