The periodic table and the elements
Looking for a website that have detail information compounds.
Submitted by cytsunny on 5 July 2006 - 11:00am.As the topic.
May I ask if there is this kind of web site? In this webelements, I can only view information about elements alone. If there is any website that can provide detail information about compounds? (Especially organic compounds)
It is better to have the following information:
1. the diagram of their structure
2. the way they react
3. the way they are formed
but it is okay to miss any one or two of them or having other information.
Thank you for your kind helping.
Lewis Electron Dot Diagram Periodic Table

Thanks
A question about the bonding of carbon in the diamond.
Submitted by cytsunny on 6 June 2006 - 4:31am.Carbon is a group four element that it need to gain four electrons to maintain a stable condition, right? In diamond, the carbon in the diamond will form this bond with another carbon to form a giant covalent structure, right?
Then here comes the question: there will always be the tips (carbon that need to gain more electrons to be stable)that need to be form bonding with the other carbon, right? So how will the 'tips' be maintain a stable condition?

periodic table listing the charges
Submitted by Anonymous on 3 May 2006 - 2:46am.i need a free periodic table that lists the "charges" that each element generally has
example:
Oxygen generally has a charge of -2
Helium is a noble gas and is very stable to it has a charge of zero
chlorines charges in order of most common to least common are -1, +1, +3, +5, +7
a list of these would be great- and a list of compounds and their charges would be wonderful also :D
im in chemistry currently and im having trouble making chemical equations so ive gotten desperate and put this up
plz help :?
Indium and Tellurium
Submitted by Anonymous on 2 May 2006 - 8:48am.You wanted to know of new uses? Silver, antimony, Indium and tellurium are used to manufacture CDRWs; see the article in Howstuffworks....Tony Stockdale (NZ)

WebElements now uses Jmol for crystal structures
Submitted by WebElements on 28 April 2006 - 9:52am.I've switched WebElements to using Jmol for dispaly of crystal structures rather than relying upon a plugin or external viewer. As an example see http://www.webelements.com/webelements/elements/text/C/xtal-pdb.html
I'd appreciate comments/observations, problem reports, etc.

Reactivity of Titanium
Submitted by Anonymous on 19 March 2006 - 11:10am.From what I know elements can have different types of reactivity and to be honest I have no idea about that. I also have read somewhere that Titanium's reactivity increases with temperature.
Could somebody tell me about the reactivity of this element and explain the increasing reactivity?
Thnx
A question about reactivity series of metals
Submitted by cytsunny on 19 March 2006 - 10:48am.About the reactivity series of metals, I want to ask that the series is ranked by what? reacting with oxygen? or what?
