1.) A volatile liquid is just something that evaporates very quickly, like acetone. You might know it as nail polish remover. ;)

About oxygen --> oxide: yes, there is nothing else what i can think of. About Cl--> chloride, too. Except, of course, ClF is called chlorine fluoride and ClO (Cl2O, Cl2O7) is called chlorine oxide.
