clarificaton of families

Can someone confirm if these elements are apart of the families listed below. Thanks

Boron family- boron, aluminum, gallium, indium, thallium

Carbon family- carbon, silicon, germanium, tin, lead

Nitrogen family- nitrogen, phosphorus, a rsenic, antimony, bismuth.

Oxygen family- oxygen, sulfur, selenium, tellurium, polonium

Also, where can i find the oxidation number of the A group elements?

isn’t it just
alkali group 1+
alkaline earth 2+
boron family 3+
carbon family 4-+
nitrogen family 3-
oxygen family 2-
halogens 1-
noble gases

Look in the periodic table to see which group an element is in!

The oxidation state of an element is different depending which compound it is in! it makes no sense to ask what it is without specifying the compound first.

It does, however, make sense to ask what the most common valency of any element is.
