Martin17, the reason I asked what silver acetate is soluble in is because it is the only acetate that is insoluble in water.

At 20oC, approximately 1.04 gr. of AgC2H3O2 will dissolve in 100 cc of H2O, which is far more soluble than CaOH.

It seems that you are right; the liquid looks mirky. The book that I got the solubility rules from is a 3rd edition CliffsAP Chemistry by Gary Thorpe, pg116. Looks like some author screwed up on a test book. :evil:
