Nitrogen.

I need some help on an assignment that I have to do. I have to basically research the element nitrogen. I have most information that I need, except what I'm about to ask help for.
What are the raw materials and/or intermediates from which nitrogen is made?
I've been searching the internet for a few hours now and I can't find anything and I don't know anything either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Pure nitrogen is produced through the fractional distillation of air. That is, they take normal air and compress it, then expand it, then compress it, then expand it, etc. etc. until the temperature drops so low that it becomes liquid. They then distill this liquid and collect the gasses as they boil off. Eventually you'll have pure nitrogen. They then compress/expand the pure nitrogen gas and that gives them pure liquid nitrogen.
It also condenses/freezes on liquid oxygen pipes. I wonder if they exploit it this way?
