Discovery of Metals...

I need to construct a timeline of the discovery of the metal, and alloys, and when people first used the following metals...:
Lead, Iron, Copper, Aluminium, Tin, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Steel, Brass and Solder.

If anyone has a date on the discovery, or uses, or both, it would be appreciated if you post them here! Thank you!

http//www.google.com would be a good place to start....

You won't find a name for the discoverers of most of those though,
since they've been used since prehistoric times.

Yes... I've tried Google and I found a few. What I'm specifically looking for are the alloys at the moment and I can't seem to find anything on them.

Ack... So hard... They all say prehistoric times...

Well, you're going to have to consult archeological material, I suppose....

the simple answer is to most of them is "nobody knows, because it happened over 10 thousand years ago before writing was invented" ;-)

you might well find out some info on which civilisations appear to have left bronze implements in the ground, etc etc.....

John Dayton wrote a good book on that in the late 70s, I seem to recall.....

Hmm... Okay then, I'll look around. Thanks for that!

As far as when the elemental metal was discovered. I have the names of thediscoverers up at my site, on one easy(or not so easy) to read page. Here is a direct link: http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?page=periodictable

I've noticed that there is

I've noticed that there is only one Analytical Chemistry Forum out there so it is a must for all Analytical Chemists:
