Compounds....ugh

Hi all,

I've just started valency at school and our teacher has advised we learn the valency and structure of 20-30 common compounds. Is there anywhere in particular I should be starting?

I want the list of elements

I want the list of elements and their valencies.Is there any easy way to remember the valency of diffrent elements

For example, this compounds have (almost) the same structure

1. HCl, HBr, HI, HF
2. H2O, H2S, H2Te
3. SiO2, CO2
4. NaCl, NaBr, NaI, NaF, KF, KCl, KBr, KI, LiCl, LiBr, LiF, CsF, RbCl
5. MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO, CuO, NiO, PbO, ZnO
6. Al2O3, Fe2O3
7. CH4, SiH4, GeH4
8. P4O10, N2O5
9. NH3, PH3, AsH3, NCl3
