Looking for a website that have detail information compounds.
Submitted by cytsunny on 5 July 2006 - 11:00am.
As the topic.
May I ask if there is this kind of web site? In this webelements, I can only view information about elements alone. If there is any website that can provide detail information about compounds? (Especially organic compounds)
It is better to have the following information:
1. the diagram of their structure
2. the way they react
3. the way they are formed
but it is okay to miss any one or two of them or having other information.
Thank you for your kind helping.

Well, webelements does have
Well, webelements does have some cpmpounds - sulphides, hyrdides and oxodes of the elements. But you're looking more to organic chemistry, whereas webelements is more inorganic.
Oxford has a virtual chemistry lab, http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/vrchemistry/ , but this again is inorganic.
They also have a "pre-university" course, http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/admissions/pucc/ccintro.htm but that isn't really what you're looking for. Interesting, nonetheless.
I thought that oxford chemistry had something online that was what you were after, but I can't seem to find it. It was a database of lots of organic compounds with reactions for how to make them. I think students made it, as part of their practical course, so perhaps it was too inaccurate, lol.
So sorry, that's no help from me :(
That's all right. You does
That's all right. You does help me by reminding someting that I may have forgotten to say in the topic. I think I'm looking for someting like database of organic compounds.
Once again, thanks for all your helping.
