Strong interactions and charge transfers between a charged benzene molecule and multilayer graphenes

The interactions between a benzene molecule and multilayer graphenes have been studied using a density-functional tight-binding method. Analysis of structural characteristics uncovers remarkable charge transfer resulted from a strong interaction between the ionic benzene and neutral multilayer graphene with a clear interesting trend of charge accumulation at the surface region.

The catalytically active Ag NPs in situ grown on magnetically separable AMH hydrogels can be prepared by a facile, scalable and environmentally friendly route. The Ag NPs exhibited remarkable and durable activity for the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol by NaBH4 in aqueous solution.
