Highly air-stable copper nanospheres have been synthesized by a microwave-assisted route under ambient conditions. These air-stable copper nanostructures exhibit surface-enhanced Raman scattering, as evidenced by the detection of 4-mercaptobenzoic acid at low concentrations.

Synchrotron based X-rays were used to probe active materials for polymer solar cells on flexible polyester foil. In this manner we were able to identify significant changes to polymer crystalline texture as a function of active layer thickness, P3HT:PCBM ratio and processing additive concentration.

The biocompatible glucose-sensitive nanogels showed reversibility via glucose stimulus under physiological conditions. The results of an in vivo study show that plasma glucose profiles in diabetic rats were significantly decreased following subcutaneous injection of insulin-loaded glucose-sensitive nanogels.
