We report a facile route to periodic nanodisc arrays of ZnO exhibiting high densities (~22 Gbit in-2) and narrow distributions (< 15%) in size and spacing. The potential of the nanodiscs to store and retain charges for potential exploitation within charge trap flash memory devices is investigated.
