A series of chiral diol substrate binds to a Mg(II)bisporphyrin in an unusual endo-endo fashion due to inter-ligand H-bonding which eventually results in a remarkably high amplitude bisignate CD signal that is unprecedented for a 1 : 2 host-guest complex having a rigid bisporphyrin framework.
