Turn-on detection for Al3+: a turn-on fluorescence sensor has been developed for the detection of Al3+ in aqueous solution. Based on aggregation-induced emission (AIE) mechanism, the sensor can be applied to detect Al3+ with a quick fluorescent response, a high selectivity over other metal ions and a wide quantitative detection range.
