A novel strategy to prepare polymer-inorganic nanohybrid membrane was developed inspired by marine mussel's adhesion chemistry. Fe3+-mediated oxidation and crosslinking of dopamine leads to in situ generation of nanoaggregates within a copolymer matrix. Owing to the enhanced Tg and lowered crystallinity, high CO2 capture performance was achieved.

Inserting durene between a biphenyl core of 4,4[prime or minute]-bis(9-carbazolyl)biphenyl (CBP) results in a great increase of the triplet energy and improvement of the thermal stability. Perfect performance is achieved when these durene-based molecules act as phosphorescent hosts and exciton-blocking materials in blue organic light-emitting diodes.
