A 1,2,4,3-triazaborole-based oxoborane derivative has been synthesized via hydrogen migration upon the coordination of AlCl3 to the corresponding borinic acid. X-ray diffraction analysis and computational study revealed the partial B[double bond, length as m-dash]O double-bond property.

Platinum (Pt) nanosheets were developed by exfoliating layered platinum oxide. Moreover, we succeeded in synthesizing monolayer Pt nanosheets for the first time by adjusting the conditions for reduction. Monolayer Pt nanosheets were highly active in oxygen reduction reaction.

The emission intensities of a fluorescent monomer-aggregate coupled system, based on 7-(dimethylamino)-coumarin-3-carbaldehyde, exhibit ultra-low temperature dependence with a low temperature coefficient of only 0.05% per [degree]C, by judicious selection of the excitation wavelength.
