Synergistic release of platinum anticancer drugs and O2 can be achieved in an H2O2-responsive nanocarrier incorporated with catalase. Such a system combines the advantages of chemotherapy and oxygen therapy and demonstrated improved therapeutic efficacy against cisplatin resistant cell lines which often appear to be in hypoxia.

Metal-doped polyoxotitanium cages can be regarded as molecular fragments of metal-doped TiO2 and can be used as structural models for the inclusion of metal ions into the TiO2 lattice. They are potential organically-soluble redox-catalysts for a range of organic transformations and have been shown to be useful single-source precursors for the deposition of metal-doped TiO2.
