Self-catalytic synthesis of metal oxide nanoclusters@mesoporous silica composites based on successive spontaneous reactions at near neutral conditions

We report a self-catalytic strategy for the facile synthesis of metal oxide nanoclusters@mesoporous silica by subtly making use of successive spontaneous reactions (i.e. nucleophilic substitution, self-catalytic hydrolyzation and polycondensation reaction) in water-ethanol solution at near neutral conditions.
