Photocatalytic CO2 conversion over alkali modified TiO2 without loading noble metal cocatalyst

Noble metals are strongly relied for the activation of CO2. Loading of NaOH on TiO2 promoted CO2 chemisorption, activation and led to direct photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into CH4 without any noble metal cocatalyst loading. Formation of surface carbonates and hydroxylation of the TiO2 surface are the main reasons for this improvement.

A new strategy for the synthesis of well-dispersed palladium nanoparticles (NPs) immobilized in imidazolium-based porous organic ionic polymers was presented in this study.
