Red phosphors BaTiF6:Mn4+ were obtained by etching Ti(OC4H9)4 and TiO2 with BaF2 in HF and a KMnO4 solution. The WLED fabricated with BaTiF6:Mn4+ exhibits a "warm" white light with a color rendering index of 93.13.

The photoluminescence emission color tones of NaGdF4:Tb3+/Sm3+ nanomaterials change from green to yellow, including white, via adjusting the excitation wavelengths. Simultaneously, the magnetization of the samples are close to the values reported for nanoparticles used for common bioseparations.
