Aqueous colloids of titanium dioxide are stabilized with polyoxyethylenesorbitan monooleate (Tween[registered sign] 80) yielding photocatalytically active, transparent colloidal solutions, stable in a wide range of pH (3-10). Such nanodispersions can be effectively sensitized towards visible light with catechol derivatives.
