Addition of HgCl2 to (8-quinolyl) SnMe3 leads to transmetalation to yield (8-quinolyl) HgCl. In the presence of NH4SCN, ligand redistribution led to R2Hg. Its bent polymorph features a C-Hg-C angle of 84[degree].

Two novel aluminoborates (1 and 2) containing Cu complexes have been prepared under solvothermal conditions. Both are built from AlO4 groups and [B5O10-n(OH)n] (n = 0 and 2) clusters. 1 features a 2D aluminoborate layer with 16-member rings, whereas 2 is a 3D framework stacked by different building layers, showing the first Cu-complex directed aluminoborate.
