Layered uranium(VI) hydroxides: structural and thermodynamic properties of dehydrated schoepite [small alpha]-UO2(OH)2

The structure of dehydrated schoepite, [small alpha]-UO2(OH)2, was investigated using computational approaches going beyond standard density functional theory and including van der Waals dispersion corrections. Some entropy estimates from calorimetric measurements overestimate by up to 23% the values computed in this study.

Mixed-metal chalcogenide tetrahedral clusters, [Cp*Ru(CO)2([small mu ]-H){Os3(CO)9}S] and [Cp*Ru(CO)2([small mu ]-H){Ru3(CO)9}S], have been isolated from arachno-[(Cp*RuCO)2B2H6] and [(Cp*Mo)2B5H9] respectively, in which the [Cp*Ru(CO)2] fragment is attached in an exo-polyhedral manner.
