Molecular and electronic structures of donor-functionalized dysprosium pentadienyl complexes

The molecular structures of two dysprosium complexes of donor-functionalized pentadienyl ligands are described. Electronic structure calculations reveal that the W-shaped pentadienyl ligand strongly influences the orientation of the main magnetic axis of the ground Kramers doublets in both complexes.

Functionalized diaminophenolates as ligands for dinuclear indium catalysts were investigated in the ring-opening polymerization of lactide. An increase in the steric bulk of the ligand phenolates decreases the selectivity of the catalysts due to catalyst dissociation during polymerization.

The ultrafine CeO2 cubes and g-C3N4 formed a heterojunction structure. CeO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposites were proved to be highly selective and sensitive sensors for the detection of trace amounts of Cu2+, and showed high photocatalytic activity.
