A series of [2.2] spirocyclic complexes [Ln5(LH)4([small eta]1-Piv)([small eta]2-Piv)3([small mu ]2-[small eta]2 [small eta]1Piv)2(H2O)][middle dot]Cl (Ln = DyIII, TbIII and HoIII) were synthesized. Magnetic analysis reveals that the DyIII analogue showed slow relaxation of magnetization.
