Two novel rare earth complexes with curcumin and pyridine were synthesized and characterized. The results suggest that the obtained two complexes exhibited obvious two-photon absorption in the range 700-860 nm in DMSO solution, which presented potential applications as a biological fluorescent probe.

Synchrotron based X-rays were used to probe active materials for polymer solar cells on flexible polyester foil. In this manner we were able to identify significant changes to polymer crystalline texture as a function of active layer thickness, P3HT:PCBM ratio and processing additive concentration.
