LEO GOES GER

Loose electrons oxidation

Gain electrons Reduction

The concept can be tricky and I'll leave it to others to describe, but that is all I needed to know when I took beginning classes.

Oxidation is Loss

Reduction is Gain

Oxidation - Reaction which oxygen combines with a substance .Example : burning (as fuel burns it combimes oxygen in the air)
Reduction - Reaction which a substance loses oxygen .
