Ester and acid
Does ethyl ethanoate react with dilute hydrochloric acid? If so, what is the name of the reaction?

I don't think it does react.
Second opinion?
(acid catalyzed) ester hydrolysis
ester and water combine and split up to form acid and alcohol
With excess water you can push the equlibrium to the side of acid and alcohol.
*cough* :oops:
/me forgot dilute == water
