Spelling of Mendelevium

Should mendelevium be changed to mendeleevium or mendeleyevium? I found out how the guy's name is spelled in Russian and....

Менделеевium it shall be!

maybe it depends on how you

maybe it depends on how you will use it

The name of an element doesn't depends on the origin... it depends on how the discoverer name it.

Yeah, well the discoverer named it after Mr Mendelev!

Transliteration from Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet has always been a bit moot -

the best English spelling is the one which looks like the best way to pronounce it!

But English is a quite strange alphabetical language which its words doesn't necessarily sound as it writes.

Well if you've got a Hong Kong accent, then yeah....

Me, I'm from Northern Ireland, and therefore don't have an accent wink
