The effective application of dendrimers in antibacterial fields.
Carbon nanotubes have high specific surface area as its nanometer diameter and micron length, so they are easily deposited on micron grade porous film in the water filtration and disinfection. Single wall carbon nanotubes directly touch with the bacterial cells can lead to the death; multi-walled carbon nanotubes have antibacterial activity, but less than the single wall carbon nanotubes. Through grafting PAMAM to adsorb nano–anion can generate a new kind of anti-microbial materials (d-MWNTs/Ag), which has a broad antibacterial activity. Meanwhile due to infusibility of carbon nanotube, it can be easily separated from the aqueous phase in the porous membrane to be applied in water treatment and disinfection antibacterial coating.
