72; each orbital has as many

72; each orbital has as many suborbitals as its number: 1 (= s) for the first, 2 (s and p) for the second... . Therefore, there would be six suborbitals for the sixth level. Each sublevel increases the number of electrons 2 for the s suborbital (2x1); 6 (2x3) for the p suborbitals, so for 6 it would be 6s2, 6p6, 6d10, 6f14, 6g18, 6h22.
